By providing your personal information, you are doing so voluntarily and agree to allow RTX BBN Technologies to contact you regarding the TAK Ops products and to use your information for marketing purposes. Provision and use of your personal information is subject to the Raytheon’s General Privacy Notice, which is available at rtx.com/privacy.

This Privacy Policy applies to any user (hereinafter referred to as “you”) of the TAK Server as a Service and related electronic interfaces (collectively the "Application"). The Application is operated by Raytheon BBN Technologies Corp. (“BBN”) under a contract with and at the direction of your employer.
Your employer has provided this notice, or a link to this notice, to you so that you understand how your personal information will be collected, used, maintained, and disclosed (collectively “processing”) by the Application. The Application processes personal information for the purpose of providing services to your employer.
In using the Application, you consent to BBN processing your personal information.
For purposes of applicable privacy laws, your employer serves as the “data controller” for the personal information processed by the Application. BBN serves as the “data processor” for such information.
- What personal information may be collected?
- 1.1 The Application collects and otherwise processes information relating to your device’s specific geographic location.
- 1.2 BBN will issue a digital certificate unique to you or your device for activating the Application on your device. In either case, the Application collects and otherwise processes this digital certificate information.
- 1.3 The Application will auto-generate a username or “call sign” that is unique to you or your device. In either case, the Application processes this username information.
- 1.4 The Application also will process and maintain the Internet Protocol (IP) address assigned to the device you use to communicate with the Application.
- 1.5 The Application also will process personal information you voluntarily input into the Application.
- 1.6 Collection of the above-identified personal information occurs regardless of any "do-not-track" choice you make via your device or web browser.
- Why does BBN collect personal information, how will it be used, and with whom is it shared?
- 2.1 BBN collects and otherwise processes digital certificate information and your device’s IP address to track your device’s geographic location and, by extension, your specific geographic location. This information will be maintained in the form of logs that record your device’s communication with the Application. The information is collected and processed in accordance with instructions from your employer. The information is shared with your employer, who may share it with other parties. BBN also may use the information for a legitimate business purpose, such as system administration and auditing.
- 2.2 Any personal information you input into the Application voluntarily will be shared with your employer, who may share it with other parties. BBN also may use the information for a legitimate business purpose, such as system administration, auditing, and statistical analysis.
- 2.3 BBN may share the above-described personal information with affiliated and unaffiliated third parties tasked with supporting the Application, such as data warehousing and cloud service providers. These parties process your personal information in accordance with BBN’s instructions and in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy. The parties may not use the information for any other purpose or transfer the information to any other party unless expressly authorized by BBN or required by law. Service providers providing only data warehousing and cloud services are prohibited from accessing your personal information. The parties take commercially reasonable steps to maintain confidentiality of your personal information, including taking appropriate technical, physical, and administrative safeguards to protect the information.
- 2.4 BBN may share the above-described personal information to other third parties under any of the following conditions: 1) if required by law, the information is responsive to a legal investigation or proceeding, or to investigate suspected illegal activity; 2) to protect BBN’s rights under law or the Terms of Use with your employer; or 3) in an emergency, such as where the health or safety of you or another individual may be at risk.
- 2.5 Depending on the level of service provided to your employer, BBN may not be obligated to monitor personal information on behalf of your employer. BBN may nevertheless monitor and subsequently disclose personal information: 1) if required by law, the information is responsive to a legal investigation or proceeding, or to investigate suspected illegal activity; 2) to protect BBN’s rights under law or the Terms of Use with your employer; 3) in an emergency, such as where the health or safety of you or another individual may be at risk; or 4) to fulfill a legitimate business interest, such as system administration and auditing.
- 2.6 BBN does not sell the above-described personal information to third parties or for marketing purposes.
- 2.7 BBN may transfer personal information in connection with the sale of BBN, whether partially or in its entirety, to a different company that agrees to offer personal information safeguards equivalent to those outlined in this Privacy Policy.
- How does BBN secure the personal information?
- 3.1 BBN has undertaken various technical, physical, and administrative measures to prevent unauthorized access to personal information.
- 3.2 The security of information transmitted via the Internet cannot be guaranteed. Any information disclosed online may be accessed and used by someone other than the intended recipient. Thus, BBN cannot warrant that your personal information will not be accessed by unauthorized parties while transiting the Internet.
- What rights do you have with respect to your personal information?
- 4.1 You can restrict the collection of your specific geographic location when using the Application.
- 4.2 At your request, BBN will make reasonable efforts to update or delete any personal information you provide via the Application. However, BBN may need to retain your personal information: 1) if required by law, the information is responsive to a legal investigation or proceeding, or to investigate suspected illegal activity; or 2) to protect BBN’s legal rights.
- 4.3 If you reside in Europe, California, or certain other jurisdictions:
- 4.3.1 You have certain data privacy rights beyond those described above, subject to certain limitations. These rights include the right to: (i) request access to your personal information; (ii) obtain restriction of processing or to object to processing of your personal information; (iii) ask for a copy of your personal information to be provided to you or an authorized agent in a digital format; and (iv) confirmation of automated processing of your personal information and restriction thereof. If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please send BBN your request via the email below. BBN will endeavor to comply with your request within 30 days of receiving your request.
- 4.3.2 You also have the right to lodge a complaint about the processing of your personal information with your local data protection authority.
- 4.3.3 Before attempting to comply with your data rights request, BBN will attempt to confirm your identity.
- 4.3.4 Please note that in certain circumstances, BBN’s ability to comply with your request and the length of time required to do so may vary by applicable privacy law or may be limited by BBN’s obligations to your employer or BBN’s rights as a data processor. BBN will inform you if it is unable to comply with your data rights request.
- 4.3.5 You may authorize an agent to make a data rights request on your behalf. To designate an agent, please provide a written and signed document by both you and the agent that authorizes the agent to act on your behalf. You may also use a power of attorney. BBN will still require you to provide information to allow it to reasonably verify that you are the person about whom BBN maintains personal information.
- How long does BBN keep the personal information?: Your personal information will be deleted at regular intervals. In general, the Application deletes information every month or six months, on a rolling basis, depending on the subscription service corresponding to your employer. However, BBN may retain your personal information for a longer duration upon request from your employer, to comply with a legal requirement, or to resolve a dispute.
- Does BBN collect personal information associated with children? BBN does not knowingly collect or otherwise process personal information by anyone under the age of 18.
- Is personal information transferred outside of the country in which you are located?
- 7.1 By using the Application, the personal information identified in this Policy is sent to the Application, which is hosted in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States when using the Application, your personal information is sent outside of the country in which you are located. BBN and your employer may, in turn, transfer the information to other countries.
- 7.2 Other jurisdictions may not have privacy laws that protect your personal information to the same extent as the privacy laws of the country in which you are located.
- 7.3 In using the Application, you consent to the transfer of your personal information to all recipients described in this Policy, regardless of their location, even when outside of the country in which you are located. You may withdraw your consent at any time. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
- Will this Privacy Policy change?
- 8.1 BBN may update this Privacy Policy without prior notice. Updates will be posted on this webpage, with a new effective date reflected on the top of the Policy. We encourage you to visit this webpage on a regular basis for updates.
- 8.2 If BBN makes material changes to this Privacy Policy that could affect the personal information collected or otherwise processed by the Application, we will notify you and give you the opportunity to invoke any of the above-described rights relating to your personal information.
